F&M Student Grants

Folklore & Mythology concentrators may apply for a student grant up to $400 to support fieldwork, equipment, books, and other research needs. Students may apply for one grant within an academic year, as well as a grant for the summer. There is no limit to the amount of times a student may apply for or be awarded a grant within their time as a concentrator. To apply, submit a brief proposal (350-500 words) outlining the intent, plan, proposed outcomes, and budget for your funds request, sent to the Head Tutor and Program Administrator. If approved, Holly will work with you to disperse or reimburse funds granted.

Example uses include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Travel support such as gas money for fieldwork trips, car rentals, flights, etc.
  • Equipment purchase
  • Texts necessary for thesis project or summer research
